Our Partners
FRSCS partners with community and business leaders to accelerate the pace of White Sturgeon recovery. Through building local environmental awareness, and promoting environmental stewardship, our partners’ actions preserve local history and forge community connections deeply rooted in the spirit of conservation. Our partnerships not only enhance the impact of FRSCS programs but also contribute significantly to the protection and revitalization of this threatened species and foster a collaborative approach to ecological stewardship.

Our Commitment to Reconciliation
The FRSCS recognizes that Indigenous Peoples have inherent and treaty rights protected in the Canadian Constitution. These rights include Aboriginal title, self-government, cultural and social rights, and First Nations rights to occupy and use lands and resources including fishing rights.
Success of our programs is due to the collaboration and sharing of information, history, ideas, and expertise between Indigenous fishers and knowledge holders, angling guides, scientists, fisheries officers, etc. Indigenous communities and fishers that have been involved with this program to date include: Scฬษwaฮธษn (Tsawwassen), Stsโailes (Chehalis), Mรกthxwi (Matsqui), Xwchรญ:yรฒ:m (Cheam), Sq’รฉwqel (Seabird), and Sqโรฉwlets First Nations on the Fraser River along with individuals from the Wuikinuxv Nation (สuwik’inuxสท) and, Heiltsuk Nation.
We believe the future for sturgeon lies in inclusion and collaboration.
