The Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society (FRSCS) initiated science-based sturgeon monitoring and population assessments in the lower Fraser River in 2000. The success of this leading conservation initiative has paved the way for additional programs and initiatives designed to extend and amplify its impact. Each of the programs and initiatives below, plays a key role in advancing sturgeon conservation in the current priority areas of: habitat, food supply, fishing techniques and technology, and increasing the rate of survival of juvenile White Sturgeon.
